The Role of Nurses In Different Culture Assignment Help
Question No.1 –
Nurses need to respect each specific patient and aware of his or her culture. It's also important for the nurse to be self-aware when interacting with those from different cultures of with different beliefs. This is called emotional intelligence and has been described as "the potential to feel, use, communicate, recognize, remember, describe, identify, learn from, manage, understand, and explain emotions" (The Ohio State University, N.D.). Please visit the website below. What information from this resource could you apply in your practice?
Question No.2
Please share a personal experience in which you cared for a patient from a culture with which you were not familiar. What challenges did the differences create? How did you respond and why? What would you do differently?
Question No.3
What happens if the inputs to the LP are not deterministic and are varying wildly? Should the manager not be concerned about uncertainties? Note he has to make a decision whether to use the results of LP for decision-making or not. What can he do? Do you think he can perform sensitivity analysis to study the impact of changing inputs to the model. That way he can use the results as good approximations towards taking better decisions. Do you agree?
Question No.4-
Please respond the below statement. The answer should says“I agree or not agree the statement.”
Question No.5-
Please respond the below statement. Its should says“ I agree or not agree the statement.”

1. In the aspect of emotional intelligence, nurses can be aware of their own duties and responsibilities towards the patients. That is they will be able to control their emotions while providing the care to individual patients. In the course of conducting their jobs, nurses are required to interact with patients of different cultures and behaviours. The cultures can differ from patient to patient and therefore, their choices and demands can be different. Nurses are required to use their emotional intelligence in order to understand the requirements and the behaviours of each patient of different culture. For this, respect towards different cultures is extremely important (Snowden et al., 2015). Equal and fair treatment for the patients is highly important and forms an important part of the emotional intelligence for the nurses. The nurses are also able to learn from their experiences and apply those skills for serving different patients which is highly necessary.
2. In my experience as a professional nurse, I was appointed to provide care to a patient of South Asian origin. The patient was diagnosed with dementia and also was an aged one in his 70s. I was appointed to provide residential care for the patient at a 24 hours service. Since I come from the UK culture; therefore, my cultural perspective was different from that of the patient. First barrier that I faced while serving the patient was language (Norouzinia et al., 2016). The language spoken by the patient was different from mine and he was not able to speak in English. Therefore, I had to make him understand all the process in expressions. Later, his daughter assisted me to translate the language and that helped me hugely. I also kept the patient and by analyzing his requirements, I gradually understood what he means to express. I also began communicating with him with expressions and that made him trust on me.
3. Yes I agree with this fact as linear programming is an extremely vital model to plan for the business. In this aspect, the bounds and ranges are derived as well as the integer as well as binary variables (Vanderbei, 2015). Therefore, these are not deterministic and vary widely, and then it can become a huge problem for the managers to take effective business decisions. In the variable are changes, then the effectiveness in managing the business operations can become a huge problem. In this regard, if these are deterministic and follow particular inputs and variable, then if the function changes in the future, then there can be problems of analyzing proper data for the business. Even the employees will be not able to manage their time and shifts with perfection. However, problem can arise when the inputs are changed with time. Therefore, managers should conduct a sensitivity analysis which can help them in better decision making process.
4. I agree to the statement because, with the help of higher linear programming, it is possible for the managers of the hospitals to assess the timings and proper implementation of the nurses for providing quality treatment to the patients. If the LP is inaccurate and lower then this can result in an improper decision which can affect the reputation of the healthcare organizations. The managers can also become confused about the process of implementing proper decisions on the nurses and this can also create conflicts between the nurses and their managers (Chen & Zhang, 2018). However, there can be problems in the aspect of proper linear programming as the future is difficult to analyze and the result of the LP can become wrong which can affect hugely in the process of proper decision making in the healthcare organizations. Therefore, the managers should always look for alternatives in the decision making the process for the nurses.
5. I agree with this statement because, in the case of linear programming in healthcare organizations, the mathematical calculation is highly important. If this goes wrong because of implementation of improper algorithms, then there can be issues such as wrong allocations in the decision-making process. Although LP is an efficient tool for optimization, however, proper use of the mathematical algorithms is highly important and this can be conducted by analyzing the expectations from the decisions that are vital for the proper management systems in the healthcare organizations. The mathematical algorithms are required to be changed and updated along with the changes in the cost of business and other costs and this can vary with time (Peasant, 2016). Therefore, the LP model can be useful as well as can bring in constraints if not executed with perfection. In this regard, all the constraints that are present in the model need to be eliminated before execution in the business operation.
