From the interview conducted with an individual employed in the organization of Canada, I gained adequate knowledge of intercultural communication. I have developed various areas that need to be improved within the organization by an individual such as lack of communication, lack of collaboration and lack of negotiation skills. I have evaluated three specific goals for developing the areas required for improvement. The first goal is to develop communication skills among the employees of the organization by the leader. It could be done by giving training and situation to the employees through they could understand the different cultural people's feelings and emotions. The first goal needs to be achieved within 1 to 2 months to allow everyone to have effective intercultural communication.
The second goal is to enhance collaboration skills to make the persons collaborate effectively with each other. It helps the people in engaging with other cultural activities and could be achieved within two months (Henderson, Barker &Mak, 2016). The third goal is to develop negotiation skills that help the individual in negotiating with other culture and create mutual trust in each other culture. Mutual relationship can be built between two different cultural people through the development of all skills.
I have discovered many things from the interview. I discovered that communication is an essential part of all individuals. Without good communication, one cannot understand the feelings of others and could not respect other cultural beliefs (Oetzel, 2017). I found that people with different cultural background failed to express their view or feelings on a certain topic and could not interact freely with the other cultural people. Improper communication may cause conflict sometimes between two or more people. I seek to get more information about the experiences that a diverse culture people had when immigrated to a different country. Moreover, I also want more information on the way the organization handle or maintain intercultural communication. I desire to engage in all such activities related to intercultural communication to learn more information. Intercultural communication needs to be effective for respecting the identities of other individual and understanding the beliefs of a different culture.
