A new job position is invigorating and relocating can be agonizing. I decided on joining in a lecturer job after my studies. Upon research, I was able to detail the steps needed in making my decision. Accepting a job offer is the initial decision and one that should be chosen carefully. That is why it is important for students like me to realise our goals before taking a career decision. This can be achieved by meeting managers and executives of the different organisation even though the vacancies are not advertised by the organisation. Also since my aim is to apply for the lectureship in and university, I need to apply in colleges and universities across the state. Further, the process of the searching job is a long tedious process and I know it will be difficult to find the position immediately during my search. So it is important for me to open to the possibilities even if the salary is low. There are three important steps which I need to follow in order to acquire an opportunity to work(Guan et al., 2016). The first step is opening an online profile which will be displaying my resume and also I can contact companies for application. In addition, it is also important for me to send cold-mails to the human resource departments and the recruitment cells of the companies and universities so that my profile can attract the attention of the authority.
