Question 1 - Respond to the following questions - How do you encourage knowledge exchanges within health care despite status barriers?
Answer - Response 1 - It is rightly said by Charlene that sharing information (Kim et al., 2012) between different layers in the organization will contribute for the betterment of the patient care and performance. Since the professional expertise when is shared with others, there will be value addition to the services of the other stakeholders too. Communication is a right tool to facilitate this knowledge sharing experience. Whenever knowledge is shared across different stakeholders in the organization, there can be better understanding of the organizational functionalities and expertise; this can contribute for betterment of the overall organizational functionality. As indicated in the collaboration illustration between dental assistants and the front office staff, a better understanding between different stakeholders will work for improving the overall performance of the organization. Collaboration will facilitate sharing of ideas and other related concepts more effectively and this in-turn will work for the overall organizational effectiveness. So, I will agree with Charlene that sharing of information can be of use for health care professionals. Collaboration will not only improve the current working profile; it will also help to come out with new ways of working as well (Razmerita et al., 2016).

Response 2 - Helena indicated ways through which knowledge sharing can be improved in any organization. Specifically she has said that the managerial team has much to do with the facilitation of the knowledge transfer process. When there is efficient system of health informatics in the organization as well when there are good training opportunities, there is much scope for betterment of the knowledge sharing. Helena indicated there are diverse factors that can work on to restrict the knowledge barriers in the organization, some of them are like cultural barriers, privacy issues and technological restrictions as well. In any case Health informatics, the technology platform is emphasized as an effective platform for communication and interactions for knowledge transfer. I do agree with her opinions about the health informatics, however till there is need to focus on other alternative channels as well. Apart from Health informatics, there can be other channels like both traditional as well as non-traditional approaches for interactions and communication exchange. Such comprehensive approaches when enabled in organization can be of more use for knowledge transfer. Of course, health informatics (Zipperer, 2016) is a potential knowledge exchange channel.
Question 2 - What are the best practices in terms of sharing knowledge between the different levels... especially in large, complex organizations like academic medical centers?
Answer - It is required that in complex and large scale medical organizations, there is need for more intense collaboration(Morley & Cashell, 2017) for the sake of knowledge and information exchange. The collaboration strategies designed in this regard are expected to facilitate more intense communication between the stakeholders and subsequent knowledge sharing (Karamitiri et al., 2017) as well. Some of the strategies can be as follows, there be chronical general body meetings between different levels of the organization organized by either higher authorities or HR or other specially formulated committees, these interactions will enable face to face interaction between the participants. Such discussions will contribute for betterment of the communication from each other. Secondly there can be social media interactions between people from different levels of the organization, where it is possible for interactions in real time and with better connectivity. Apart from this there can be forums on the media for special focus domains like forum for better patient satisfaction, forum for better IT utility etc. Each of these operations will contribute for better knowledge sharing and idea sharing. These are specifically useful in the large medical centres like academic medical centres.
