i. Suggest a type of network architecture that is suitable for the organisation. You will need to identify all the media (circuits), network hardware necessary to build the network(s) you are proposing and to justify your choice, i.e., you will need to explain the function of the hardware and network choice in your solution and to justify your choice by value for money, Quality of Service (QoS), security, etc.

Answer: Before we design the network design, it is important to note that there are 3 buildings altogether and 2 of them are close by and the third one is a branch office that is located 100kms from the present location.
1. Network design for recommended network
1.1 Data transmission media: We will go ahead with Cisco 4K router which assures at least 100Mbps speed though it is an expensive affair. This needs to be installed in both the buildings. Further, there is a need for VPN in the entire network architecture due to the reason that users need to access from anywhere (Groth and Skandier, 2005). Hence, when users attempt to bring own devices or access company data from a different location, Cisco VPN will be of use.
Instead of allocating a separate room for servers to store files and databases and also facilitate communication, it is a good idea to go ahead with cloud server. In this case, Amazon Web Server (AWS) will be used. The reason for choosing this cloud based server is that it is affordable, efficient, reliable and secured. The existing Windows Server 2019 is appropriate to facilitate data sharing and communication while the database will continue to exist only in the cloud based server.
1.2 Hardware requirement: For all the workstations, there will be individual ports and based on the number of workstations, we will make use of 24port or 30 port switches (Albert and Barabasi, 2013). The firewall included here will take care of security in addition to the role played by AWS. It is a wireless mesh network followed between the workstations. Physical devices are connected through the cables.

The given structure has scope for addition of new ports and switches. As we have been using Cisco Router, it is appropriate to ahead with Cisco switch that will ensure instant compatibility and safety.
