Course Scenario

You are a member of a consultant team brought in to design and implement a Decision Support System (DSS) for the Innovative company. The proposed system should use the latest technologies to supportmanagement day-to-day decision making process and having predictive capabilities for trends and pattern checking.The team should deliver a well-tested and live prototype of the proposed DSS. The implemented DSS (prototype) must be at the level and details that could be expanded later and fully implemented by the organization. 

Project Name: Decision Support System (DSS)

In this project you will deliver a DSS (prototype). The DSS project will be managed by applying relevant project management techniques and periodic project status reports are required.Project deliveries include documentations for:

• Business Intelligence Requirement Analysis,
• Proposed DSS Design
• Sample DSS Business Intelligence (BI) Reports
• Project Management Reports 

A live demonstration of the proposed DSS (prototype) is also required.

Task 1:

Analyze the Business Intelligence Requirements for a DSS - to include the Business Intelligent Requirements Document and project status

Task 2

Analyze the case study onData Mining and Decision Support Systems (DSS), 

Task 3

For a Geographic Information System develop a Logical Data Warehouse Design Diagram, a Physical Data Warehouse Model Diagram, and a set of Warehouse Design Presentation Slides

Task 4

Create a Prototype of the 's Warehouse along with a Data Warehouse Test Plan document, and Test Results Document 

Task 5

Based on all the tasks thus far, complete a set of Data Warehouse design and implementation documents and other artifacts, and sample of BI Reports

• Generate the BI report according to the defined requirements.

Module Name: Overview of the DSSTechnology

Module Description:

This Module provides an overview of the theories andcurrent DSS technologies. The current and future BI reports for the organization will be analyzed.The Data Warehouse technology will be explored.The project management techniques for managing a Data Warehouse development will be used. Series of training videos covering SQL Server and Data Warehouse implementation are provided and will continued in next modules.

Module Name: More DSS Technologies

Module Description:

This Module is about acquiring the knowledge of the DSS technologies and SQL skills build up. The Data Mining, Neural Network, and Geographic Information System (GIS)usage in reference to the DSS and prediction process will be explored. The Microsoft SQL Server training videos will be continued.

This module provides a continuation of training videos for Microsoft SQL Server.
